Find the Right Level of Support

THE BASICS

Every child and every D’var Torah is different. Some kids have a complete draft and simply need a fresh set of eyes. Others know what they want to say but need help shaping it. And some stare at the blank page wondering how they're ever supposed to connect their Torah portion to seventh-grade life.
There’s a package for each of them.

MEET ME IN THE MIDDLE

$475

ALL IN

$750

We wrote it. Now make it shine.
We have a draft. We could use some help.
Where do we even begin?
No draft? No problem. And honestly, this is my preferred way to work because it gives me the opportunity to get to know your child and figure out what makes them tick.
We'll start at the beginning and work together to uncover what your child actually wants to say.
I'll get to know your teen, explore their Torah portion with them and help identify themes, experiences and stories that feel authentic to their life. From there, we'll build an outline and I'll guide them through the writing process from that intimidating blank page all the way to the final amen.
Includes:
  • Three 60-minute individual sessions with your child
  • Guided exploration of the Torah portion and its themes
  • Personal brainstorming and story development
  • Creation of a detailed D’var Torah outline
  • Writing guidance and developmental feedback
  • Up to three rounds of editing and revision
  • Final editorial polish

Best for: The student who wants individualized guidance throughout the entire writing process.
Additional sessions or substantial revisions beyond those included in the package are available at $75/hour.
Your child has done the heavy lifting and has a complete D’var Torah. You’d simply like a professional editorial eye to tighten the writing, strengthen transitions, improve flow and give the speech a little extra finesse without losing your child’s voice.
Includes:
  • One comprehensive editorial review of a completed D’var Torah
  • Feedback on structure, clarity, flow and audience engagement
  • Line editing and polishing
  • One light follow-up revision after changes are made

Best for: The independent writer who already has a strong draft and needs a great editor.
Your child has started writing, but something isn't quite clicking yet. Maybe the Torah connection feels forced. Maybe the personal story isn't fully developed. Maybe there are five good ideas competing to become one speech.
We'll figure it out together.
Includes:
  • One 60-minute individual session with your child
  • Review and developmental edit of their existing draft
  • Help strengthening the connection between the Torah portion and personal experiences
  • Guidance on organization, storytelling, transitions and overall message
  • Up to two additional rounds of revision and editing
  • Final polish of the completed D’var Torah

Best for: The student who has gotten started but needs help transforming a draft into a meaningful, cohesive speech.

Add-On Services

Presentation Coaching - $75

We wrote it. Now let's make sure they can deliver it.
After all that work getting the words just right, the next step is helping your child feel comfortable saying them out loud in front of a sanctuary full of people.
This 60-minute individual coaching session focuses on pacing, projection, emphasis, eye contact and overall delivery, with plenty of practice to help your child feel prepared to step up to the bimah.
Presentation Coaching can be added to any D’var Torah package.

Need It Yesterday? - Rush Services

Sometimes the Bar or Bat Mitzvah is suddenly two weeks away and that blank Google Doc is still looking…very blank.
When my schedule allows, expedited services may be available for projects beginning 14 days or fewer before the ceremony.
A 25% rush fee will be added to the applicable package or service.
Rush projects are subject to availability, so please reach out as soon as possible.

And Because Your Child Isn’t the Only One Who Has to Give a Speech…

Once the D’var Torah is finished, there always seems to be one more thing to write.
Whether you're struggling to put into words what you want to say to your child or simply need someone to make sure your toast doesn't become another 10-minute speech, I can help with that too.
